This work is a process to expect unpredictable and non-linear results from a simple and linear cause. The method of the embodiment is mainly a distortion effect. “A distorted prism” for this work means not only just a distortion but also a reflection.
Dieses Werk ist ein Prozess, um unvorhersehbare und nichtlineare Ergebnisse aus einer einfachen und linearen Ursache zu erwarten. 이 작품은 단순하고 선형적인 것으로부터 예상불가능한 비선형적 결과를 기대하는 것이다.
이 작품의 주요한 구현 메소드는 디스토션 효과이다. "왜곡된 거울"이라는 뜻은 단지 "왜곡" 이라는 의미에 한정되지 않고 "반영"이라고도 정의될수 있다.
이 작품은 당신이 자아를 직접 선택하고 만들어 나갈수 있다는 믿음으로 시작되었습니다.
이 작품은 왜곡된 프리즘을 통해 고양이를 변형시키는 작품입니다. “왜곡된 프리즘”이라는 뜻은 왜곡뿐만 아니라 반영이라는 의미도 포함되어 있습니다. 울퉁불퉁한 면을가진 프리즘으로 어떠한 빛이 투사될때, 그 빛은 왜곡될 뿐만 아니라 반영됩니다.
이 작품에서 고양이가 의미하는 것은 작품을 마주하는 관람객이고 당신이 속한 이 사회는 왜곡된 프리즘입니다. 이 고양이는 작품에서는 나타나지 않는 가상의 왜곡된 프리즘으로 인해 변형되고 재구성 됩니다.
이 사회는 당신이 어떤 사람인지 정의 내리고 싶어 합니다. 예를 들어 당신은 학생일 수도, 어느 평범한 회사원일 수도 있습니다. 원하던 원하지 않던 당신은 이미 사회에 존재했던 개념들로 왜곡됩니다. 하지만 이 세상은 당신의 외양만을 왜곡할 뿐입니다. 왜곡된 프리즘은 다른 방향뿐만 아닌 빛의 근원지로도 재 투사됩니다. 이 사회가 당신을 더 정의 내릴수록 당신은 왜곡된 외양을 통해 자신을 발견하고 자신과 그것을 구분할 수 있습니다. 예를 들어 당신은 퇴근 후에 명상을 수행하는 명상가일 수도 있고, 글 또는 그림을 통해 자기 자신을 표현하는 창작가일 수도 있습니다.
이 작품의 시작은 디스토션 효과가 없는 소리들로 시작하고 간헐적으로 디스토션이 일어납니다. 이 작품의 중간지점부터 화면이 둘로 빈번히 나누어지고 다른 양상을 띕니다. 이것이 의미하는 바는 그 자신과 그 사회에서 왜곡된 자신을 끊임없이 구분하고자 하는 작가의 의도가 담겨 있습니다. 이 작품의 후반부는 굉장히 빠르고 빈번한 왜곡들이 발생합니다. 때로는 형체를 알 수 없는 모습을 하고 있지만 결국 고양이의 모습으로 남아있고 소리 또한 심하게 왜곡되지 않은 채 음악이 마무리됩니다.
우리는 사회에서의 다양한 요인으로 인해 우리는 왜곡됩니다. 이 작품의 목표는 왜곡된 외양과 우리 본래의 모습을 분리하는 것입니다. 저는 이 분리를 통해 우리가 자아를 직접 선택하고 만들어 나갈 수 있다고 믿습니다.

This work started with the belief that you can choose and create your own self.
This work transforms a cat through a “distorted prism”. The term “distorted prism” includes the meaning of reflection as well as distortion. When a light is projected through a prism with irregular faces, the light is reflected as well as distorted.
What the cat means in this work is the audience facing the work, and this society you belong to is a distorted prism. This cat is deformed and reconstructed by a virtual distorted prism that does not appear in the work.
The beginning of this piece starts sounds without distortion effect, and distortion occurs intermittently. The second half of the piece has very fast and frequent distortions.
We are distorted by various factors in society. The goal of this piece is to separate our true selves from our distorted appearances. I believe that this separation allows us to choose and create our own selves.
